If you’re taller than average our pine beds can be made longer than normal, and also extra wide if need be. Headboard and footboard height can be altered to suit specific requirements. The height of the mattress platform can also be raised or lowered if you have trouble getting in and out of bed.

This made to measure bed service is also available in our pocket sprung mattresses and memory foam mattresses which means you can also have three quarter beds to super king size beds.

Affectionately known as the 'chocolate bar bed' The County Kerry bed has been in continuous production at Revival beds for longer than any of the other handmade pine beds. Along with the County Kerry 4 poster it can be accompanied with bedroom furniture from The County Kerry Collection.

The County Kerry is packed with handmade detail. Start at the top of the headboard and footboard and your eye is drawn to the split barley twist turning that’s mounted onto the dog-tooth pediment. This pediment crowns both the multi paneled headboard and footboard. The small panels are individually made and mounted in a framework of rails and stiles in the time honoured way. Once this is cramped together and set it's joined onto the posts with mortise and tenon joints.

This pine bed is packed with rustic charm so if you want a shabby chic look - you can have it. If you want the country style look you can also have it because the design of the County Kerry pine bed is based on the provincial wooden furniture of Ireland which was made by local craftsmen to the local customer’s particular needs in much the same way that Revival beds will make a bespoke bed for you.

Libby's Tips: I always think a traditional pine bed like the County Kerry looks great when it’s been wax polished but it’s very difficult to get a true idea of the real colour of wood from a photograph or a P.C. screen. Distressed finishes like Oldwood give the timbers in Revival Beds the aged effect that blends so well with antique bedroom furniture. When you buy your pine bed from a bed shop they may be able to show the beds in a variety of finishes but Revival beds will send you real wooden colour samples for you to match with your furniture at home.
